Movers who do the boring parts properly

The difference between a good move and a bad one is almost never strength. It's preparation, communication and turning up when you said you would.

Careful with every box

Blankets, shrink-wrap and straps come standard. Fragile, heavy or sentimental: it gets padded, secured and carried like it's ours.

Stress-free from pickup to drop-off

We confirm access, parking and lift bookings before the day so the crew arrives ready to work instead of ready to wait.

The SwiftMove crew on a Brisbane job

A crew you'd recommend

Same faces, every job. On time, polite, and happy to shuffle the couch twice until it's in the right spot.

What's included, and what isn't

  • Upfront, fair pricing

One clear hourly rate. No fuel levy, no stair tax, no surprise line items on the invoice.

  • Book now, pay later

Nothing to pay to lock in your date. Settle up once everything's unloaded and you're happy.

  • Same-day & weekends

Saturday and Sunday slots at the same rate. Evening starts available on request.

  • 2 movers & a truck

Trolleys, straps, blankets and tools on board. Furniture disassembly and reassembly on request.

  • Trained for the awkward stuff

Pianos, billiard tables, jacuzzis, third-floor walk-ups and 90° stairwells. We've done them.

  • No depot-to-depot travel

Most movers run the clock from the moment the truck leaves their yard. We charge one call-out fee instead, then you only pay for time on site.

The one we get asked about most: there is one call-out fee to get the truck and crew to you, and it is quoted in writing up front. What we don't charge is depot-to-depot travel time, which most Brisbane removalists add to the hourly bill at both ends of the job.

You pay by the hour, and the hour includes everything

Your rate depends on truck size and crew size. One call-out fee, then the hourly rate. No fuel levy, no stair charge, no equipment hire, and no depot-to-depot travel time. Run the quote to see your number.

Most jobs

Hourly rate

Two movers, the truck, fuel, trolleys, blankets and straps in one rate. Two-hour minimum, then 30-minute blocks. One call-out fee covers getting us there; we don't bill depot-to-depot travel time on top. This is how most SwiftMove jobs are billed.

Written estimate

Send photos or a quick video walk-through and we'll put a realistic hours range in writing before you book. You're still billed at the hourly rate, you just know what to expect.

Fixed price

One number agreed in writing before moving day. Best for interstate jobs, office relocations and tight budgets. If it runs long, that's our problem, not your invoice.

You'll deal with the people who own the trucks

SwiftMove isn't a franchise or a call centre that subcontracts your move to whoever answered first. It's two people who still show up on jobs, and a small crew they trained themselves.

Alex, SwiftMove co-founder, leading a crew on a Brisbane moving job

Alex

Co-founder & team lead

Alex leads the crew on site and trains every new team member himself. Stairs, tight corners, pianos and the third-floor walk-ups nobody else wants are his job.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Rushing is how things get broken.
Paul, SwiftMove co-founder, taking a booking call

Paul

Co-founder & operations

Paul answers the phone at 7am when someone's settlement moves, and he runs the schedule. He's the reason we don't overbook a day. If the crew can't do your job properly, he'd rather tell you than squeeze you in.

I treat your furniture with the same care I'd want for my own.

Questions people actually ask

How much do removalists cost in Brisbane?

Our hourly rates run from $160 to $220 depending on truck size and how many movers your job needs. A two-bedroom unit typically lands around 4-6 hours with two movers, and a three-bedroom house around 6-8. We only put a third mover on for four-bedroom-plus jobs, or a three-bedroom whole-house move with stairs. Use the instant quote to get a range for your specific move.

How much does it cost to move interstate from Brisbane?

Interstate costs depend on distance, volume and whether you need a dedicated truck or a backload. As a guide, Brisbane or Gold Coast to another state generally falls between $2,500 and $15,000. We quote interstate jobs as a fixed price in writing so there's no meter running across the border.

Is there a minimum charge?

Yes. A 2-hour minimum applies to every booking, plus a single call-out fee that is confirmed in writing with your quote. What we don't do is bill depot-to-depot travel time on top: the hourly clock starts when we start working at your pickup address, not when the truck leaves our yard.

What's included in the hourly rate?

Truck, professional crew, fuel, trolleys, moving blankets, straps and shrink-wrap, plus basic furniture disassembly and reassembly. The only thing charged separately is packing materials you keep, such as boxes, paper and tape.

Do you move pianos, pool tables and other heavy items?

Yes. We move upright and grand pianos, slate billiard tables, jacuzzis, safes and workshop gear. Please tell us at booking about anything over 100kg. It changes the crew size and equipment we bring, and disclosing it up front is what keeps the price the same as quoted.

Do I need to be there on the day?

Yes. You or an authorised person needs to be present at both the pickup and delivery addresses. You don't have to lift anything, but someone needs to be able to answer "which room does this go in?" and do the final walk-through.

Do you take a deposit?

Usually not. The large majority of jobs are booked with nothing to pay up front and settled once everything is unloaded and you're happy. A deposit of $100 is only asked for on the occasional special job: interstate runs, larger commercial relocations, and bookings where we hold several days or hire in specialist equipment for one customer. If yours is one of them you'll be told in writing when we quote, and the $100 comes off the final invoice rather than being charged on top of it.

Can I change or reschedule my booking?

Free rescheduling or cancellation up to 48 hours before your move. Inside 48 hours your deposit may be retained as a cancellation or rescheduling fee, and same-day cancellations can be charged up to the 2-hour minimum plus any call-out costs already incurred. Life happens, so call us early and we'll work with you.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

Yes. There's one call-out fee per booking, quoted in writing before you commit, and it covers getting the truck and crew to you. It is not the same as the depot-to-depot travel time most removalists add to the hourly bill at both ends of the job. We don't charge that.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer, cash and all major cards. Payment is due on completion unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. There's nothing to pay when you book.

Are my belongings insured?

We carry carrier's liability insurance covering eligible items up to AUD $3,500 per item. Items you packed yourself may have limited cover where the damage was caused by inadequate packing, because we can't verify how they were packed. For high-value goods we recommend arranging separate transit insurance, and we're happy to point you in the right direction.

Is there anything I shouldn't pack in boxes?

Keep jewellery, passports, medication and important documents with you personally. We can't transport flammables, gas bottles, aerosols or other hazardous goods, and we don't recommend packing perishables or live plants for long-distance moves.

How far in advance should I book?

Two to three weeks is comfortable, especially for end-of-month and Saturday slots which book out first. That said, we keep capacity for short-notice work. If you need someone this week, call and ask.

What happens if it rains on moving day?

We keep moving. Brisbane weather is Brisbane weather. The crew carries extra shrink-wrap and floor protection, and we adjust the loading order so soft furnishings stay dry. We'd only reschedule for genuinely unsafe conditions.
